- Married to Princess Nest (or Nesta of Deheubarth), the daughter of Rhys ap Tewdwr, a Welsh prince and Gwladys ferch Rhiwallon in sometime between 1095 and 1100
- Anglo-Norman baron
- Family: Walter FitzOther (father), and Gwladys ferch Ryall (mother)
- Constable of Pembroke Castle from 1102, granted manor of Moulsford (in Berkshire now Oxfordshire)
- Given the site of Carew Castle as a dowry
- Nobleman in charge of Norman forces in Wales
- Built the first castle with Nest on the site
- Had at least 5 children so needed castle to house family
- Owain ap Cadwgan, son of another Welsh Prince, started a fire at Carew Castle in 1109
- de Windsor escaped but Owain captured Nest
- Retrieved Nest and her two children by Owain Glyn Dŵr, killed Owain Glyn Dŵr] in battle in 1115
- Died in 1116
