The Transylvanian Archaeological Project (TRAP) is a collaborative endeavor between the National Museum of Transylvanian History, Cluj (Romania), the Universities of Aarhus (Denmark), Umeå (Sweden), Gothenburg (Sweden), and Stanford (USA), and the RAÄ (Sweden). Building on preliminary fieldwork that was carried out by a team under the direction of Roger Engelmark in 2004, the project is set to commence during the summer of 2005. It will explore a small region of Transylvania around the huge Bronze Age hoards of Uioara de Sus and Spalnaca I-II through survey and focused excavations in an effort to develop an understanding of the dynamics of settlement and land-use through time.
