The distribution of an entity into the category of either/ or; or, indeed, both/and using the same categories produced out of the either/or duality. Symmetrical archaeology posits that such dualities (subject/object, nature/culture, etc.) are the product of modernist thought and not the result of any empirically verifiable occurrence ontologically. When it comes to such modernist distributions of entities in the work symmetrical archaeology situates the world as neither/nor.
