Quoting Latour: "Propositions are not statements, or things, or any sort of intermediary between the two. They are, first of all, actants… What distinguishes propositions from one another is not a single vertical abyss between words and the world but the many differences between them, without anyone knowing in advance if these differences are big or small, provisional or definitive, reducible or irreducible" (1999, 141).
