Welcome to the Forum for Stanford Archaeological Theory

The purpose of Stanford Archaeological Theory is to build an intellectual community among the archaeology graduate students of Stanford University by establishing an open environment where we can learn from each other. We meet to read, discuss and debate relevant texts and help each other understand and use theory in archaeology. We will examine a broad range of topics extending beyond archaeology that embraces all theoretical perspectives.

This is intended as an open forum and everyone is encouraged to attend.

We currently meet on Thursdays at 6:30pm after the weekly Archaeology Center Workshop in the lobby of the Archaeology Center (Building 500).

Suggestions for readings are very welcome and should be made on the Reading List page.
