Haemon (meaning: bloody) is Creon's only son. He the son of Creon and Eurydice as well as Antigone's fiancee. His loyalty is engaged split between his father and Antigone, so when Creon decides Antigone's fate, he cannot both keep his family ties and support Antigone's wish to marry Antigone, who is Oedipus's daughter. But, Antigone honor her brother, and commits a crime against Creon's decrees and is sentenced to death. Haemon, who is really looking forward to their marriage, is devastated. He commits suicide next to Antigone. after she does.
