Matt and James as Socrates and Euthyphro--what goes into a good definition of piety (reverence)?

• Guiding Principles for Definition:

• Establishing the range of the virtuous (differences of kind and degree)
• Defining with positive terms
• Self-sufficient (albeit with other virtue-variables)
• Working earnestly with compelling objections
• Watch for definitions that are too strong; perhaps, for example, "One should always be in control of oneself."
• Independence of the Question: Wanting more than to expose an opponent's ignorance
