I am a fourth year PhD student in the Department of Communication. My primary interests lie with the study of social movements centered on media and communications technology as well as the intersection between movements, policies and practice. Past work includes research on alternative media and counterpublic formation as well as media globalization and the communication rights movement. Current projects include pre-digital network culture (mail and other ephemeral arts), politics of participation in broadcast reform, and race, culture, and discourse on intellectual property.
