Can one study performance in all its manifestations – dance, music, theatre, feasting, processions, spectacle and ritual - archaeologically? If so, how? This section of the website will begin to explore such possibilities.
Pearson and Shanks in Theatre/Archaeology (2001) question the relationship between site specific performance and interpretations of the past. Through the contributions made to this section, we will continue and broaden this interrogation, inviting scholars and practitioners to examine their own practice, in the hope of stimulating a lively debate.
